In the business of feature dancing costuming is vitally important. You are no longer a dancer who can slip on the tight, short, stretchy dress and get away with that. Oh no no no! As a feature entertainer you need real costumes to perform in. Without them you won’t make it very far. As most girls at the feature level already know this is one of the biggest expenses they will incur. Most of the feature entertainers will buy their costumes from Jacquie. She is know in the feature business as the “Costume Lady” and is in my opinion the best there is. I love Jacquie, without her the girls would literally be in big trouble. However, some girls new to the business need to start on a much lower budget and can’t afford the good stuff right out of the gates. Jacquie has beginner costumes that start at about $700.00 to $800.00 dollars. That’s just the beginner stuff. The real big, ornate, incredible costumes a lot of the feature entertainers wear are much, much more. Totally worth it and I do recommend using Jacquie when you have the budget to do so. There really is nothing like getting a brand new custom costume made for you by Jacquie. Any of the pros will tell you that as will I.
This section is for all feature entertainers to sell their used feature costumes and props at reasonable prices to any and all dancers who wish to buy them. It doesn’t matter if my company represents you or not. This is open to everyone. I was told by a girl who was new to the feature business that she bought some feature costumes from another girl who was retiring and was told they were Jacquie’s. She was charged a price that was ridiculously way too much for the condition they were in. The kicker was the costumes were not even Jacquie’s and the dancer was greatly ripped off. Trust me you’ll know the Jacquie’s when you see them, unless of course you’re new to the business. It was right there and then I decided to include this section on the site. I do believe many dancers are good about charging a fair price for used costumes and are for the most part ethical on how they conduct their business. You do however have to be careful of the scammers out there. Every business has them, so investigate what it is you’re buying, talk to your agent and know 100% what you are actually buying.
To place your used costumes and or props in our consignment shop, call or e-mail me for the details. Our fee is small and contracts will be in place and signed by all parties with money held in a special account prior to any costuming being shipped.
